Financial Controller

Love coffee? Love numbers? Love building something that’s growing fast?

You might be our next Financial Controller.

What You’ll Be Doing;

  • Owning the P&L and balance sheet (and keeping them squeaky clean)
  • Producing monthly management accounts with insight, not just numbers
  • Building and maintaining robust cash flow forecasts
  • Handling VAT, HMRC and compliance like a pro
  • Making sure COGS and stock actually makes sense
  • Keeping AP & AR tight and under control
  • Leading the annual audit without breaking a sweat
  • Improving processes, systems, and reporting as we grow
  • Jumping into ad-hoc commercial projects that help scale the business

The Opportunity;

This is not a back-office, spreadsheet-only role.

As our Financial Controller, you’ll own everything financial — from management accounts and cash flow forecasting to VAT, audits, and commercial projects. You’ll work closely with our MD and Fractional CFO, helping shape decisions that genuinely move the business forward.

If you enjoy being hands-on, solving problems, and making finance actually useful, this role is for you.

Who We’re Looking For;

You’ll likely be:

  • A finance professional with a recognised accountantancy qualification
  • Experienced in an SME, start-up, or scale-up environment
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced role
  • Strong on cash flow, controls, and commercial insight
  • Confident explaining finance to non-finance people
  • Detail-driven, proactive, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves

Experience with Sage, Xero or similar, plus solid Excel skills, is a must.

The Details;

  • Role: Financial Controller
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
  • Location: Office-based
  • Reporting to: MD, with dotted line to Fractional CFO

Package;

£38,000 - £42,000 Basic Based Upon Experience + 28 Days Holidays
