Fresh Speciality Coffee F.A.Q's
What is a coffee blend?
A coffee blend combines beans from two or more origins to create a specific, consistent flavour profile. The goal is usually to balance sweetness, acidity, body, and strength in a way that suits a particular brew method or taste preference.
Are blends better than single origins?
Neither is better, they’re just different. Blends are built for consistency and are generally more forgiving to brew. Single origins showcase the unique character of one place and can be more complex.
What’s the best coffee blend for espresso?
The Classical House Roast and Classical Dark Rising are both well suited to espresso. The Classical House Roast gives a smooth, balanced hot with good body. The Classical Dark Rising leans into deeper, richer notes if you prefer something more intense. Both are available whole bean or pre-ground for espresso.
What's the best coffee blend for a cafetiere or French press?
Most of our blends work well though a cafetierre, it’s a forgiving brew method. Medium to darker roasts tend to shine particularly well,m as the full immersion process draws out the body and richness that makes those roast profiles so satisfying. The Classical House Roast is a great starting point.
Are your blends available pre-ground?
Yes, on each product you can select your preferred grind size, espresso, cafetiere, or filter. If you’re grinding at home, we always recommend whole beans for maximum freshness.
What does ‘omni-roasted’ mean?
It means the coffee is roasted to a profile that performs well across multiple brew methods, espresso, filter and cafetiere, without needing to be tailored to just one. It’s a good option if you use more than one brewing method at home.
