We’re now recruiting baristas to work alongside our experienced team of industry professionals, at our acclaimed and hugely popular Witney based speciality roastery and cafe in West Oxfordshire.

Experience ideally preferred with competent levels of understanding when it comes to dialling in coffee and latte art, but not essential as training will be provided!

You will have the opportunity to work on the industries most advanced espresso machine brands, Victoria Arduino Black Eagle, Eagle One, Mythos II and Mahlkonig.

The opportunity of sponsored Speciality Coffee Association accredited training is offered to the right person after you have successfully completed an initial working period.

We are offering the highest rates of pay in Oxfordshire dependent upon your experience, along with staff benefits as well as the opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading independant speciality coffee roasters.

Artisan Baker

 

Location: Roastery, Witney, West Oxfordshire, OX29

Full Time Position

 

We are looking for an experienced hands-on artisan baker to take the lead at our ever-expanding speciality coffee roastery located in Witney, West Oxfordshire.

You will be responsible for ensuring that we produce an excellent array of home-produced morning goods, sweet pastries, cakes and bread. You will also have considerable scope to look at how we can constantly develop our range with new and exciting customer favourites. On a daily basis you will be responsible for managing production schedules, while always maintaining excellent standards and consistency.

You will be baking products to sell in our two cafés, and for our chefs to use as part of our breakfast and brunch menu.

We have some exciting retail projects planned over the coming months, which will open the door to greater opportunities for development and career progression for any successful candidate looking to be part of an award-winning business and team.

You will be happy with very early starts or you may be better suited working night shifts, we are flexible. A typical shift time may be 4am until noon and will include most weekends.

Brunch Chef/Cook

Ue Coffee Roasters is looking to recruit a Brunch Chef/Cook to support our much-loved and ever expanding roastery operations. This new position will contribute to driving our best-in-class service, in a business well known for handcrafted and high-quality food and coffee at its centre, with happy teams and friendly service.

 

You’ll take pride in making our quality products and providing our customers with our world class food every day, delivering exceptional service to every customer.

As a Brunch Chef/Cook with Ue Coffee Roasters you will:

  • Prepare breakfast / brunch dishes from our menu to order
  • Prove and bake items for our counter displays
  • Prepare delicious sandwiches / baguettes for our displays
  • You’ll get to know all about our products inside and out, proactively learning about new recipes and be confident with your overall knowledge
  • You’ll ensure that all baking reflects the high quality and craft that make our products so special, following our recipe guidelines and recognising and reporting any issues
  • You’ll monitor food flow and maintain food safety standards in our kitchen and bakery
  • You’ll show care for our products through handling and displaying them correctly, sharing a beautifully presented product with each customer
  • Be an ambassador for our brand

Production/Warehouse Assistant

We are Oxfordshire’s leading and longest established speciality coffee company enjoying our twelfth year in business. Supplying high grade speciality coffee to our own cafes along with speciality coffee shops, delis, restaurants, hotels and a busy online shop, direct from our roastery in Witney, West Oxfordshire.

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available to join our roastery team at our main roasting facility in Witney, West Oxfordshire.

As a Roastery Assistant you will work directly with a small team, primarily focusing on assisting the production department in weighing, bagging and packing of our coffees and teas ready for dispatch the hundreds of customers we work with across the UK.

This is a physically demanding role requiring a lot of hard work, repetition and an eye for attention and detail will be essential.

This role is best suited for someone who likes to work independently and takes great pride in the quality of his or her work.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Weigh out, bag and pack coffee and tea into the various packaging formats.
  2. Assist our warehouse and internet dispatch in the picking of orders and dispatching these to our customers following set procedures and brand standards.
  3. Help with the loading and unloading of deliveries arriving at the roastery on a daily basis.
  4. Assist with the lifting of coffee sacks (circa 70kg) and booking in green bean stocks.
  5. An element of driving work will be required within the local vicinity of the roastery.
  6. Use of a forklift truck.
  7. Maintain roastery equipment on a daily basis.
  8. Sweep and clean roastery each day making sure that the working area is clean at all times.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Similar experience working in a production or warehouse setting.
  2. Attention to detail at all times.
  3. Passion for artisanal coffee and tea.
  4. Quality-driven in every aspect of presentation when it relates to the products being sent to our customers.
  5. Good problem-solving skills.
  6. Good time management.
  7. Excellent sense of vision, hearing & smell.
  8. Physically fit: able to lift up to 30kg, drag up to 70kg & stand up to 8 hours.
  9. Mechanically apt: able to use linear weighing, packing machines, pallet trucks and forklift truck.
  10. Proficiency in English: reading, writing & speaking.
  11. Good computer skills: email, Microsoft Excel, web-based applications, and Windows operating systems.
  12. Good mathematical & analytical skills.
  13. Excellent customer service skills.
  14. Excellent planning & organisational skills.
  15. Able to work independently, multitask & remain calm under pressure.
  16. Willing to work occasional evenings & weekends when necessary.
  17. A very can do attitude is a prerequisite
