We’re now recruiting baristas to work alongside our experienced team of industry professionals, at our acclaimed and hugely popular Witney based speciality roastery and cafe in West Oxfordshire.

Experience ideally preferred with competent levels of understanding when it comes to dialling in coffee and latte art, but not essential as training will be provided!

You will have the opportunity to work on the industries most advanced espresso machine brands, Victoria Arduino Black Eagle, Eagle One, Mythos II and Mahlkonig.

The opportunity of sponsored Speciality Coffee Association accredited training is offered to the right person after you have successfully completed an initial working period.

We are offering the highest rates of pay in Oxfordshire dependent upon your experience, along with staff benefits as well as the opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading independant speciality coffee roasters.

Production/Warehouse Assistant

We are Oxfordshire’s leading and longest established speciality coffee company enjoying our twelfth year in business. Supplying high grade speciality coffee to our own cafes along with speciality coffee shops, delis, restaurants, hotels and a busy online shop, direct from our roastery in Witney, West Oxfordshire.

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available to join our roastery team at our main roasting facility in Witney, West Oxfordshire.

As a Roastery Assistant you will work directly with a small team, primarily focusing on assisting the production department in weighing, bagging and packing of our coffees and teas ready for dispatch the hundreds of customers we work with across the UK.

This is a physically demanding role requiring a lot of hard work, repetition and an eye for attention and detail will be essential.

This role is best suited for someone who likes to work independently and takes great pride in the quality of his or her work.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Weigh out, bag and pack coffee and tea into the various packaging formats.
  2. Assist our warehouse and internet dispatch in the picking of orders and dispatching these to our customers following set procedures and brand standards.
  3. Help with the loading and unloading of deliveries arriving at the roastery on a daily basis.
  4. Assist with the lifting of coffee sacks (circa 70kg) and booking in green bean stocks.
  5. An element of driving work will be required within the local vicinity of the roastery.
  6. Use of a forklift truck.
  7. Maintain roastery equipment on a daily basis.
  8. Sweep and clean roastery each day making sure that the working area is clean at all times.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Similar experience working in a production or warehouse setting.
  2. Attention to detail at all times.
  3. Passion for artisanal coffee and tea.
  4. Quality-driven in every aspect of presentation when it relates to the products being sent to our customers.
  5. Good problem-solving skills.
  6. Good time management.
  7. Excellent sense of vision, hearing & smell.
  8. Physically fit: able to lift up to 30kg, drag up to 70kg & stand up to 8 hours.
  9. Mechanically apt: able to use linear weighing, packing machines, pallet trucks and forklift truck.
  10. Proficiency in English: reading, writing & speaking.
  11. Good computer skills: email, Microsoft Excel, web-based applications, and Windows operating systems.
  12. Good mathematical & analytical skills.
  13. Excellent customer service skills.
  14. Excellent planning & organisational skills.
  15. Able to work independently, multitask & remain calm under pressure.
  16. Willing to work occasional evenings & weekends when necessary.
  17. A very can do attitude is a prerequisite
