About this coffee;
Café Granja La Esperanza was started in 1930 when Israel Correa and Carmen Rose Vega acquired some land to start their first farm, named Potosi. They had 14 children many subsequent grandchildren, 2 of whom have worked hard to acquire a further 4 farms and introduced a number of new varietals.
This coffee is from one of these farms named ‘La Esperanza’ where they employ permanent staff to manage the production as well as training the seasonal workers in picking and sorting specialty coffee. There are around 96,500 coffee trees at La Esperanza including one of the newer varietals, Mandela. This is a tree that has been cultivated to produce the best tasting qualities but also, importantly, to provide some resistance to diseases that other varietals suffer heavily to such as coffee leaf rust.
We are proud to showcase this lot from a well-established and reliable producer. The coffee is clean and well-balanced with some light fruity notes and a smooth and sweet chocolatey finish.
Espresso: 1:2 coffee to water, extracted in 28 – 32 seconds
Filter: 60-65g coffee per litre of water, brewed for 3-4 mins

We roast and despatch Monday to Friday. All orders placed after 10am on Friday will be roasted and despatched the following Monday.
